Holiday Home • Saint-Rémy-de-Provence, Vaucluse

With a loft apartment vibe – this home in Avignon is full of charm. We love the exposed stone walls and wooden beams, while the modernity of the stainless-steel kitchen and contemporary staircase blends well with the old. There’s a Zen atmosphere here, too, thanks to the buddha artwork in the living space. Relax with a good book on the silver velvet sofa, then cook up a Provençal style lunch with ingredients from Avignon Halles, a mere three-minute walk away. However, there are plenty of eateries on your doorstep if you prefer to eat out. Later explore Palais des Papes – one of the most significant medieval Gothic buildings in Europe or watch a production at the Opéra Grand Avignon, both around ten minutes on foot. If nature is more your thing, go for a stroll around Barthelasse Island – there are 700 hectares of countryside to discover, and it’s just ten minutes via the ferry. The iconic Pont d’Avignon, on the other hand, is a fifteen-minute saunter, while it’s the same walking distance to Rocher des Doms, a leafy hilltop park with a café.
